He first picked up a trumpet when he was 10, but it was a few years later, after his summer involvement in a Governor School for the Arts program, he knew that music was his passion. Messiah University's chair of music, trumpet professor, and popular guest clinician, Dr. William (Bill) Stowman shares his life and career journey with Kirstin and Morgann in the 23rd installment of Life Between The Notes.
Among many other topics covered in this episode, Bill credits his core trumpet teachers with not only teaching him the fundamentals of trumpet performance, but shaping his musicianship and instilling the integrity that a master teacher should strive for. As many musicians, Bill has found a way to create a unique career that he loves which includes enumerable facets like performing, composing, conducting, podcasting, and more.
