Podcast Introduction

Today is Gospels Saturday. We’ll the complete the Gospels with chapters 27 and 28 of the Acts of the Apostles. This is the last episode of the Lifespring! One Year Bible. Yes, after 13 seasons, this is it. I’m calling this episode “A Call To Action.“

Summary

In Acts 27, we find Paul on a journey to Rome after appealing to Caesar. Despite facing a perilous storm at sea, Paul remained steadfast in his faith, assuring the crew that God had promised their safety. This message may have initially been met with skepticism, but as the storm raged on for two weeks, Paul's encouragement and actions brought hope. He urged everyone to eat and gave thanks to God, demonstrating his unwavering faith. This act filled the hearts of those on board with hope, emphasizing the power of hope in challenging times. It's a reminder that we can make a difference by being a source of hope for others, as I've experienced in my own life.

Moving on to Acts 28, we see Paul quoting a message from Isaiah to Jewish leaders in Rome. This message had been given to the Jewish people in the past as a warning from God due to their repeated rejection of Him. Paul's use of these verses signified that the Gospel, rejected by some, would now be shared with the Gentiles who would embrace it. This shows God's patience but also a point at which His patience wears thin.

Today, as we witness increasing moral decay and rejection of Christ in our world, it's crucial for believers to pray for divine intervention, for people's eyes to be opened, and for the salvation of our unsaved loved ones. The message is clear: now is the time to be bold and share the message of salvation, because time may be running out. We have the message of life, and we should not be afraid to share it with those around us who are in need of hope and salvation.
