Welcome to the Live Wild Podcast with IFTA nominated Irish actor, Hilary Rose. Hilary is best known for her role as Mairead in the hit film and TV series, The Young Offenders.

In her private life Hilary is an adventurer and lover of living wild and free in a modern world. Her blog www.livewild.ie was well received which led to the production of this podcast.

Hilary interviews people from all walks of life, specially those who live and work outside the normal boundaries of society, those who are passionate about what they do, what they stand for and those who think outside the box.

Note from Hilary: Welcome to the first and second season of Live Wild. I'm so excited to share it with you all. I love all things wild from the food that I eat, to the thoughts that I think, to the actions that I take in the world. Freedom is a choice and it all begins within ourselves. Sometimes all it takes is a different viewpoint or a snippet of knowledge to set your lifestyle on an entirely different but extremely satisfying path. Hopefully some of these interviews will inspire you to do just that.

#38 Eimear Burke - Druid, Celebrant & Psychologist

Rooted in ancient tradition yet profoundly relevant to modern life, Eimear Burke’s work as Chosen Chief of the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids offers a powerful reimagining of spirituality, nature connection and inner peace. In this episode, she shares her unexpected path into Druidry, the moment she felt she had “come home”, and how this nature-centred practice can guide us through grief, change and the climate-anxious world we live in. Eimear explores Irish folklore, the soulful intelligence of landscape, the importance of inner stillness, and why all healing and peace must begin within ourselves.

Key topics we discuss:

  • How Eimear became the Chosen Chief and her initiation into Druidic leadership
  • Why Druidry is non-dogmatic, diverse and deeply empowering
  • The role of ritual, ceremony and the Wheel of the Year
  • Sacred places, landscape resonance and the soul of nature
  • Reclaiming indigenous Irish wisdom after colonial erasure
  • The revival of the Irish language and its hidden clues about ancient spiritual practices
  • Inner peace, intuition and learning to trust the wisdom of the body
  • The power of storytelling and bringing female voices back into myth
