In this first episode of the Living Science podcast, we’re starting where the idea for the School for Living Science began - from inside the broken institution known as “the healing arts.”

We live in a pain phobic culture

• Renewal = creating a culture that sees pain and illness as natural and normal
• What is needed is shared insight into human nature and human evolution

Why practitioners try to eliminate symptoms or “fix” people and what we can

• As practitioners it’s our responsibility to help our clients turn towards pain, trauma and illness in order to learn what these experiences are telling that person about their particular soul-spiritual “curriculum” - and this should be a collaborative process entered into voluntarily by both people.

We have scapegoated the very source of the wisdom we need to heal - the body, mind or soul we don’t understand or know how to help.

• Renewal = learning from the SOURCE: the living realities of our bodies, minds, souls, relationships, environment, culture etc

Far too many practitioners are quoting modern material science as if it is “fact” when it is funded by state and corporate interests and has reduced the human being to genes, brain chemistry and genetics, assuming that we are practically the same as mice and rats and monkeys.

• Renewal = learn to behold reality and know it for yourself AND - teach your clients to do the same, rather than outsourcing authority to “experts” and “the science”

Govt licensure = unfree to address Whole human being

• Renewal = healing arts emancipated from government regulation
• Each practitioner (and client) learns to looks within for their next right steps instead of outsourcing their authority and safety to the government

Most practitioners are limited by their scope of practice and insurance

• Renewal = throw away the license and embrace transparent trusting and consensual contracts with clients
• Learn about the whole human organism and address every client as a unique N of 1

When we know how we function, we know how to heal.

• When we understand what pain is and isn't, we understand the true nature and purpose of pain, we're aren’t tempted by quick fixes or temporary relief.
