Bakerloo Line's Kilburn Dream

Discover the lost London Underground line: the Bakerloo, planned in the 1890s to connect Victoria to Kilburn. With stops at Hyde Park, Marble Arch, Edgware Road, Maida Vale, and Kilburn High Road, it was set to cost £132 million today. Despite cheaper tickets for workers, wealthy homeowners in Mayfair and Victoria opposed it. After rerouting under Hyde Park, the plan was rejected by Parliament in 1893 due to construction concerns and profit doubts.
