Massive Waste Mountain in Oxfordshire: Environment Agency Acts
Massive Fly-Tip in Oxfordshire: Environment Agency Launches Operation Nation to Find CulpritsA critical incident unfolds in Oxfordshire as a colossal waste pile, dubbed a mountain, is discovered near the A34 in Kidlington. The forty-foot high, one-hundred-and-fifty-meter long rubbish heap, estimated to weigh hundreds of tons, is causing concern over potential river contamination. The Environment Agency, led by Anna Burns, has launched Operation Nation to investigate and bring those responsible to justice. The waste, primarily shredded household and commercial rubbish, includes hazardous items like batteries. The agency has taken preventive measures, including installing barriers and a floating barrier on the River Cherwell, to protect the environment.
