Regulators approve first clinical trials for puberty-blocking drugs in children, following a ban on their general use in gender clinics. Kings College London leads trials to investigate potential risks and benefits. Eligible children must have experienced gender incongruence for at least two years, started puberty, and provide informed consent. Parental consent also required. Trial will compare puberty-suppressing drugs with non-medical care, following participants for two years. Results expected in four years.
