John Avila is a computer engineer from Colombia that lives in Tartu. His hidden talents behind the protective shield of a computer screen and introverted nature include shamelessly stalking people on paper, playing around with pixels, creating retro games and making electronic music. When he’s not too busy working then he’s most likely plotting on his next computer game idea… be it then “Alien in Tartu” or some magic mushroom picking adventure game.
He’s a retro pixel artist and game developer interested in making good old games that were never played before, a curious gentle soul that is turning laziness into creative solutions, finding ways how to achieve his goals faster (because he doesn’t have the patience to go through the lengthy processes) and someone who’s never afraid to jump into new things. In fact, he’s the kind of person who is constantly looking for feedback.
In this episode, we explore what’s happening behind the facade of a nerdy and introverted computer engineer when his childhood dreams of becoming a poet were gently pushed aside in the hopes that he’ll pick something more reasonable as a career choice… and how all of that ends up creating much bigger of a drive to explore his creative side. Enjoy the journey!
Happy exploring!
