Love You Live is a podcast from the acclaimed Love Supreme Festival exploring the lives and careers of some of the world's greatest musicians through the prism of their formative live music experiences. Unlike a record, a gig only really exists in our memory but it can be hugely impactful - maybe as the catalyst for a career or creative epiphany, a memory or symbol of a certain time in one’s life or just an unforgettable show that left a permanent imprint. Starting with the first live shows they attended, each of our guests brings with them stories from the most impactful gigs of their life and we discuss how these have shaped their artistic and personal development.

It is our great honour to welcome one of the giants of 20th century popular music to the third episode of Love You Live: Elvis Costello.
Costello launched his career with a melodic and sophisticated take on the new-wave and post-punk of the late 70s. He has since gone on to explore Jazz, Americana, Chamber Pop, Country and more across a staggering 31 studio albums. The list of his collaborators reads like a “who’s who” in music over the last 40 years including Paul McCartney, The Roots, Allen Toussaint, Chet Baker and Burt Bacharach.
From the outset, Costello was a relentless and ferocious live performer. In Love You Live, he looks back on his life and career through the lens of his formative live music experiences. From memories of his father singing in Liverpool, catching Iggy Pop on his first night in San Francisco in 1977 and a life changing night when he opened for the Reverend Al Green.
