30. Bachchan’s first important decision and destiny / भाग्य प्रबल, मानव निर्बल का पाठ पढ़ाती मधुशाला

In the ⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠previous episode⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠, we spoke about a story from Bachchan’s childhood and what his father’s family Guru had predicted about Bachchan’s future. There was also a Nazm by Nazeer Akbarabadi – “Sab thath pada rah javega, jab laad chalega Banjara”, on the games fate plays. In today’s episode, some more discussion on fate and Niyati, about the first important decision Bachchan made about his life, and some lines from Dinkar's Rashmirathi and Maithili Sharan Gupt. ⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠पिछले अंक⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠ में बात की थी के बालक हरबंस राय के बारे में उनके परिवार के गुरु जी ने क्या भविष्यवाणी की थी, और भाग्य एवं नियति के खेल पर नज़ीर अकबराबादी की एक नज़्म भी सुनाई थी। आज के अंक में भाग्य पर कुछ और बात करते हैं और बताते हैं बालक हरबंस राय के जीवन के पहले महत्वपूर्ण और स्वतंत्र निर्णय के बारे में। उसी संदर्भ में मधुशाला की ये चतुष्पदी सुनते हैं - मदिरालय में कब से बैठा, पी न सका अब तक हाला,

यत्न सहित भरता हूँ, कोई किंतु उलट देता प्याला,

मानव-बल के आगे निर्बल भाग्य, सुना विद्यालय में,

'भाग्य प्रबल, मानव निर्बल' का पाठ पढ़ाती मधुशाला (९७)

and -

साकी, मर खपकर यदि कोई, आगे कर पाया प्याला,

पी पाया केवल दो बूंदों, से न अधिक तेरी हाला,

जीवन भर का, हाय, परिश्रम लूट लिया दो बूंदों ने,

भोले मानव को ठगने के, हेतु बनी है मधुशाला (१०२)
