In 2022/23, 1.8 million workers suffered from work-related ill health — 672,000 of which were new cases that year alone. These new cases cost Great Britain £13.1 billion, and 31.5 million working days were lost due to work-related ill health.

These figures highlight the scale of the issue and the shared drive across the industry to take action. That’s why Michaelbecame part of the ‘Prevention’ initiative - a 10-year strategy aimed at reducing these statistics over the coming years.
