Man vs Mind is a brutally honest, often funny, and always relatable men’s mental health podcast about the things men feel but rarely talk about.
Tim and J are two ordinary blokes trying to make sense of their own heads – anxiety, anger, confidence, fatherhood, stress, medication, relationships, intrusive thoughts, and the day-to-day stuff most men brush off. No experts, no preachy advice, no five-step solutions. Just real conversation about real feelings and the stupid sh*t going on in our heads.
The message is simple: you are not alone. When you hear someone else say the thing you’ve quietly struggled with, it cuts through the noise and loneliness and makes your beautiful mess feel a bit more manageable. That’s what this show is for.
Some of it is silly, some of it is uncomfortable, and some of it is painfully truthful – but it’s exactly the kind of honesty men aren’t taught to share. If you want a podcast where men actually talk about what’s going on in their minds, without bravado or judgement, this is it.
Disclaimer: we’re not mental health professionals. Nothing here is medical or psychological advice – just lived experience and open conversation.

I'm in the mooooood for [insert appropriate activity here].
Today we're exploring why a good mood can feel suspicious to an anxious brain and how our state shifts across an ordinary day: from the joy of the school run to the hard switch back into dad mode after a day at work.
Tim’s been on top of the world, and J’s smashing through a lesser-spotted productivity streak, so while they're both freakishly optimistic they decide to question it, and unpack mood triggers, how therapy and meds can widen the gap between feeling and reaction, and why refusing to let road-rage or stray comments set the tone can save your entire mood.
We also revive our “fake it till you make it” experiment — not toxic positivity, just testing whether behaviour can nudge emotion without turning you into that insufferably chirpy colleague. Plus, there's a nod to spreading good vibes at work (through an unrelenting abundance of high-fives).
Oh, and Lewis Capaldi, if you're listening, we'll give you a high-five mate.
