Since 2001, Lawrence Scarpa's firm Pugh + Scarpa has won many awards, most recently the AIA firm of the year award. Their work is a combination of fun, innovation, and social awareness. They are material groundbreakers, using objects such as ping pong balls, broom bristles, shrink wrap and dixie cups. They have a wide ranging practice which encompasses private homes, affordable housing, special needs housing, corporate interiors and even a solar electric vehicle charging station.
