What do I want my family to become?

What do I want it to look like?

How should it function?

These are some questions we address today, but not in the way you might think. The truth is, tactics, tricks, and to-do's will not make your family great. We need to build ourselves into the type of person who can execute in such a way that my family responds in the positive ways we desire. This is leadership and mental fitness and it flies in the face of the common attitude most of us hold that what we have is all there is ("it is what it is") and we can't do anything else to make it better. Because we are more comfortable in the status quo, and we desire comfort and the familiar more than we realize, we (me included) don't spend very much energy taking our leadership, family life, and marriage from just ok to great.

We must be intentional, do everything on purpose (especially the little things) to lead and guide our family under our leadership. Otherwise, we allow others orcircumstances to guide our family, and they will likely take our family to places we don't want to go. Be warned, trying to level up your leadership will be met with resistance. You will be tempted to give up, because leading at home is hard. Do not quit. #preachingtomyself
