Here is the status of all people. You are either in a storm (crisis, challenge, or stressful period of life), or you just came out of one. And guess what? Another is coming. You can count on it.

So what can we do when we get a moment to catch our breath between storms?

Most of our waking life is on auto pilot. We live unconsciously by our habits (good and bad) and they will take us to the easy,lazy, comfortable path if we aren't convincing our mind consistently to stay on track. So what happens when life gets too comfortable?

Unfortunately our nature is to become lazy. And that leads to bad outcomes.

One way to combat this natural inclination to laziness is to reload our operating system every day. Renew our mind. Be aware of our thinking.

We aren't as self-aware as we think. We need to regularly check in with ourselves to see if our thinking aligns with what is true, good, and right. 

We are like a missile that's already fired. We can't stop it, but we need to keep directing, adjusting, steering the missile to keep it on track.

Everyday.

If we don't, we will end up in places we don't want to be. Like at the bottom of a family sized bag of potato chips or the end of another hour wasted scrolling the newsfeed.

Be intentional. Be responsible for your choices. Have a big picture view of who you're aiming to be. And don't be too hard on yourself when you slip up. Forgive yourself.Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn. Press on.
