في منتصف الأزمات الأمنية، الاجتماعية، والاقتصادية، لازالت بعض العوائل العربية تعتبر تدهور الصحة النفسية من أكبر العيوب. "مش مخلفين مجانين نحنا"؛ ألا وهي الجملة التي تستخدم للتعبير عن الرفض الكلّي للأمراض النفسية. قد تتفاجأوا بالعلم أنّ هذه الجملة لا تساهم في حل الأزمات النفسية، بل تزيدها سوءً. فيا أفلطون العقائد المتخلّفة، ما تتفلسف وترفض المساعدة لأنّوا اكتآبك غير اكتآب اللّي بعاني (بكل معنى الكلمة).

Amidst masses of safety, societal, and economical collapses, some arab families are still stuck on the notion that mental health is one of the biggest taboos they can encounter. "We did not conceive lunatics"; a sentence many still use to express their ultimate refusal of the concept of mental health. To your surprise, this sentence does not contribute to the wellbeing of those suffering with mental health issues, but instead it promotes its doom. To all the Platos of backward ideologies, do not preach in words of your mindsets and refuse to offer help, because the depression you speak of, is far from the depression of the sufferer.
