S1:E22 From Pain to Purpose - Moral Injury Discussion
Joining me as co-host is Chaplain Dr Darrell Hartley. In this discussion, we are covering Moral Injury and its effects in the veteran community. Moral Injury was recently approved by the American Psychiatric Association (APA)DSM-5-TR, the latest edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. It is not a mental health disorder itself but is included as a "moral, religious, or spiritual problem" under Z Code Z65.8, which helps clinicians provide a more comprehensive picture of a patient's situation by identifying experiences that disrupt their moral compass. Surely more discussions to follow on this topic and it remains very relevant.
