Good morning, neighbors! Welcome to the Friday, December Twelfth, Two Thousand Twenty Five edition of the Murphy Morning Show with Sarah, coming to you from our little corner of the mountains.
Downtown Murphy is still glowing after Murphy Mountain Christmas and the town Christmas tree lighting, and the holiday energy is rolling right into a full season of shopping, dining, and Main Street nights under the lights. We also touch on county updates and ongoing discussions about federal land and conservation policies that could shape outdoor access and management in Cherokee County.
Over in Andrews, it is all holiday fun this week. Tonight is Grinch Night on Main Street with cookies, hot cocoa, photos, and a special chance for kids to drop off letters to Santa. Local businesses are joining in with a cozy pajama party at a downtown boutique, and the Valleytown Cultural Arts Center is serving up nostalgia with “A Christmas Carol: A Live Radio Show” plus “A Charlie Brown Holiday.”
Looking ahead, Andrews is gearing up for a Christmas parade themed “A Gingerbread Christmas,” along with youth theater performances and a community Christmas party with food, gifts for kids, and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
We also take a quick look over the state line toward Blairsville and the North Georgia mountains, where the headlines reflect the same mountain town priorities: public safety, infrastructure, and keeping local communities strong.
Plus, your three day Murphy forecast: cool days in the low to mid fifties, nights in the thirties, and only a small chance of light showers.
