This week on Must Be Tuesday: A Buffy Podcast, we’re heading back to biology class for Teacher’s Pet, where Buffy loses a genuinely wonderful teacher, Cordelia finds a head in the fridge (Sunnydale High cafeteria vibes), and a mysterious substitute shows up with big “extra credit after class” energy. Spoiler: she’s a literal She-Mantis, because in this town even faculty recruitment is cursed.
We break down how the show tries to throw us off with “Fork Guy” — a clawed vampire who is very much not the threat — and how even he’s scared of our seductive substitute. We also get into the chef’s kiss levels of cringe high-school-boy behavior, from braggy locker-room fantasies to Xander’s “I swear I’m cool” meltdown, proving teenage hormones are almost as dangerous as giant mantis talons.
