Brother Sam, with profound insight, uses the metaphor of the Potter's House to encapsulate their experiences. Each of us, as an elect child of God, is a clay vessel in the process of being shaped by the Potter. Every imperfection is identified and removed until we are transformed. When perfect, the vessel still needs to be fired in the furnace of affliction before it is of use to the Potter, but we emerge stronger and more resilient.
