But with that support comes the hardest part: the death notices. They appear weekly—sometimes daily—and it’s heartbreaking to lose people she’s grown close to. Michelle shares the story of one woman who was diagnosed around the same time as her, someone whose passing “took her breath away” because they had just spoken days before.

She opens up about the process she goes through when she sees these notices, how she searches for answers, and the weight of realizing there are none.
