Most mythologies are stories that come from the ancient world. As we continue to explore these tales, interestingly enough, we'll find that many of them cross over to other mythologies, cultures and religions. As we travel they are carried to new places where they are adopted, but there seems to be a parallel across the world with the mythology and stories of creation. At the basis of it all these tales are recounted to help us make sense of the world around us and to both explain and fill that spiritual side of us that so many of us can feel. Amaterasu is the Japanese goddess of the sun and is a prominent deity in the Shinto faith of Japan. Through her origin story we'll notice there are many similarities to Egyptian and Greek mythologies and also to a biblical story involving Jesus Christ.
