I recently had to ask a (just about) stranger to watch my self-pleasure practice for a professional Somatic Sexology certification that I'm currently enrolled in.
The experience was vulnerable, raw, intimate, beautiful, empowering, edgy, un-shaming, and healing on levels I didn't know I needed.
I experienced a deep sense of sisterhood, solidarity, reclamation, and normalization.
It was an opportunity to be witnessed in one of the most exposed, "private," and vulnerable states that humans can be in, and to experience what it's like to be lovingly witnessed with zero performance, goals, destinations, or expectations.
I felt the remnants of childhood shame physically leaving my body.
I felt my nervous system expand its capacity for pleasure and safety.
I felt the divinity and normalcy of human sexuality on even deeper levels.
