47. Soulchats with Ann Marie Ford

Anne-Marie Ford is a pal of mine since I heard her speaking so passionatley about early intervention for children with additional needs. Ann Marie has been a wonderful support my my daughter Charley who has dyslexia and has supported me in trying to navigate getting the correct supports put in place for her. Ann Marie is Principal of Scoil Naomh Cholmcille in Tullydonnell Togher where she has worked since 2010. She is married to Andrew and has four children. Anne-Marie is currently finishing her clinical training in Psychoanalytic Pychotherapy this year. Alongside her teaching qualification, Anne-Marie has a degree in Philosophy and a Master of Arts in Humanities. She has most recently completed a Master of Science in the Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health from King’s College London and a Master of Science in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from Trinity College Dublin.

Anne-Marie is passionate about early intervention for children in relation to mental health and education, and ensuring equality of access to education for all children. She feels very strongly about ensuring that all children especially those with additional needs are adequately supported in order to ensure that they are given every opportunity to meet their potential. Anne-Marie has been campaigning on a national level in the last three years for better services and supports for children with additional needs and for their voices and the voices of their parents to be heard. Anne-Marie’s mission is to strive as hard as she can to improve services for children and their families.
