At our Learning Lab, we believe that drawing upon lived experience to create narratives, is a way of exercising agency as a marginalised person whose voice is rarely heard — and rarely deemed 'creative'. The Third Eye’s 'Pocket-Sized Stories' bring you narrative discoveries made while plumbing the depths of memory, shaped by each maker's creative agency.
These stories have emerged slowly, fermenting over a steady process of intensive mentoring that starts in one of our writing workshops. Staged on the ground of the everyday, they feature offbeat narrative styles, sometimes bringing you characters like Patnewali (from Patna!) and Achuki from Marwad, sometimes a caseworker’s diary, and sometimes a hushed voice telling you a secret.

द थर्ड आई की लर्निंग लैब में, हम मानते हैं कि हाशिए की आवाज़ें, जिन्हें शायद ही कभी सुना जाता है या रचनात्मक माना जाता है, ये तभी सुनी जा सकती हैं, जब ये आवाज़ें अपनी कहानी खुद कहें. लेकिन ये कहानियां आसानी से जन्म नहीं लेतीं, बल्कि धीरे-धीरे एक खमीर बनने की प्रक्रिया में तैयार होती हैं, जो लेखन कार्यशालाओं और गहन मार्गदर्शन से संभव होती है. इन्हीं कहानियों को, इस रचनात्मक एजेंसी की झलकियों को, उन खोजों को जो लोगों ने अपनी स्मृतियों में उतरकर की हैं, इन्हें हम पॉकेट-साइज़्ड स्टोरीज़ (Pocket Sized Stories) के रूप में प्रस्तुत कर रहे हैं.

F se Field, Issh se Isshq is a series of audio stories emerging from the lived realities, desires and fantasies. All these narratives help us understand our encounters with sexuality by centering the psyche.
These stories emerged in a facilitated setting: Participants were discussing their dangerous pleasures and pleasurable dangers, while Jaya and Archana took them through concepts like the Charmed Circle by Gayle Rubin or Jacques Lacan’s articulation of how prohibition eroticises.
These ideas are usually thought and written about in English (or, you know, French), and we translated and transliterated them in Hindi, so that we can write our own experiences in a language that is closer to us, as intimate and varied as the experiences shared here.
The stories that emerged after this process surprised even the people who wrote them. There were moments of intimacy, discovery, hope, astonishment, shame, helplessness, betrayal - stuff that is often buried within us. Be it the bliss of reaching the pinnacle of pleasure in a jungle, the pain of a hidden love bite, or the burden of 'what could have been'.
Some writers preferred anonymity, and their names have been changed in the stories.

इश्श्श्श्श्श्श्श…..
“फ से फ़ील्ड और इश्श से इश्क” प्यार, फंतासियां, चाहतें, गुस्सा, मोहब्बतें…इस ऑडियो सीरिज़ में सबकुछ है. चाहतें, मज़ा और खतरा के अपने-अपने अनुभव जो देश के कौने-कौने से निकली हैं. ये कहानियां नारीवादी नज़रिये से यौनिकता को देखने को देखने की कोशिश कर रही हैं जिसके केन्द्र में हमारा अवचेतन है.
लेकिन ये कहानियां यूं नहीं तैयार हो गईं. इसकी शुरुआत होती है हमारे एक वर्कशॉप से जहां हम साइकी या अवचेतन के चश्मे से यौनिकता को देखने का मतलब क्या होती है और इससे हम क्या समझते हैं जैसे प्रश्नों पर बातचीत करने बैठे थे. और तभी हमने गेल रूबीन के चार्म सर्किल और जैक लकां के ‘मनाही कामुकता जगाती है’ के विचारों को भी विस्तार से जानने की कोशिश की कैसे ये हमें हमारी यौनिकता, हमारी चाहतों को समझने में मदद कर रहे हैं।
जया शर्मा और अर्चना द्विवेदी, हमारे दोनों मेंटर्स ने हमें खुद की जिंदगी में झांककर ऐसे पल या घटनाओं की ओर देखने को कहा जहां हमें खतरे के बारे में मालूम था लेकिन फिर भी मज़ा आया, या मज़ा आया ही इसलिए क्योंकि वहां खतरा था. हमारा दावा है कि इन कहानियों को सुनकर आपके मन में भी ऐसे कई सवाल आएंगे और हो सकता पहले से मौजूद कुछ सवालों के जवाब भी मिल जाएं. जो भी होगा ये अहसास, ये कहानियां अपनी सी लगेंगी।
दिल और दिमाग में इतनी चाहतें हैं पर अभी भी इनके बारे में बात करना आसान नहीं. यही वजह है कि इन कहानियों के ज़्यादातर लेखकों ने अपना नाम गुप्त रखने की गुज़ारिश की है। इसलिए हमने उनके नाम बदल दिए हैं।
