Boris deputy: the London Plan will double housing starts in London
Boris Johnson's right hand man on property, Sir Edward Lister, has said 2014 will be a year of cranes rising across London, as the mayor's office says: "above all, we want more units of housing". In a comprehensive interview with Property Week presenter and BBC London broadcaster James Max, the chief of staff and deputy mayor for planning and policy said he welcomed  inward investment from Asian companies such as Greenland, the huge Chinese investor that this week bought the Ram Brewery site in Wandsworth from Minerva. He added that a huge number of new homes will be built in London as a result of forthcoming changes to the London Plan, which is due to be published next week and promises to double the number of house built across London.
