The Boys on Amazon Prime is about a group of super heroes who are neither super nor heroes. Instead they use their power, backed by the faceless conglomerate of a corporation. As ridiculous (and gratuitous) and this story is, it presents the problem of chasing pride and power. Christians, though, are called to something different than our cultural understanding of identity and influence. We are called to boast in our weakness as we give God the glory through our inability.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Corinthians 12:9-10, ESV)
