Many entertain the notion that Christianity is everything other than the work that entails being a Christian. Many come to Christ seeking His life but not prepared to put in the work. This is what meets us in this passage in Peter, where he urges the readers that for those who desire to inherit God's blessing, for those who name the name of Christ, they must actively turn away from sin.
