On a green, open, and welcoming campus, humans share the space with other animals. By learning more about them, we can find ways to coexist peacefully. For those who are afraid of dogs, this awareness might also help to ease some of that fear. Animals aren’t just part of campus life—they’re also present in laboratories. Lab animals have played a crucial role in the development of modern medicine. That’s why April 24 has been designated as World Day for Laboratory Animals: a reminder that as we push forward in science and technology, we must also protect animal welfare.
