Changing the Paradigm of Menstruation: Eradicating Shame and Choosing Celebration with Storytelling, Education and Empowerment with Chantal Blake of Honored Womb

Chantal Blake is a Holistic Menstrual Health Educator and Author, with a professional background in Nursing, Environmental Engineering, and Peristeam Hydrotherapy.  She weaves the fields of medicine, environmentalism, and holistic self-care into fascinating and practical instruction for women of all ages.

In this interview we discuss the power of recognizing other culture's menstrual practices as well as storytelling to release the shame + embarrassment that is commonly found around the topic of menstruating. We talk about holding ceremony for the girls and women in your life who are bleeding, how to begin the topic of discussion with your own daughter and how to slow down and sync your cycle with your life. Chantal enlightens us with her own womb story and how vaginal steaming changed her life.

Books mentioned in this episode are: Women Code and In The Flo by Alisa Vitta

Chantal mentions the Steamy Chick Institute, where she got her peristeaming certification.
