Resuscitating History with the Power of the Ateneo Press

The validity and solemnity of history has been under attack through the prevalence of disinformation during the campaign of Current President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and with the prominence of historical revisionism only growing, the credibility of our university historians has been under attack.

As we continue to defend the credibility and truth of history, the main responsibility falls upon publishers of school books—books that serve as the very foundation of one’s beliefs about our country’s history. Publishers like the Ateneo University Press make way for stories and studies to reach audiences and radically shape public understanding.

Prior to the 50th year anniversary of martial law, the Ateneo University Press released a list of credible material dissecting the years of martial law and Marcos Sr.’s regime. With the recent celebration of the 37th EDSA People Power Revolution Anniversary, we look back on the important role of publishers and books as we continue to fight back against disinformation and historical revisionism.

Join us as we go On Point with Director of Ateneo University Press, Karina Bolasco
