1)What are קטניות? Includes things such as beans, chickpeas, rice etc. 🍚🌽
2)קטניות are not חמץ, the 5 grains are חמץ. But since it can be easily be mistaken for the 5 grains, ashkenazim are מחמיר and have the מנהג to not eat קטניות. 🌾🍞
3)Although ashkenazim don’t eat it, they can still benefit from it; for example if there’s some sort of lotion or cream with קטניות , that’s מותר.🧴✅
