#158 // Jonathan Freedland | How To Defy Tyrants & Nazis
In 1943 a group of high society anti-Nazi’s from Germany met together to discuss ways in which they could defy the Nazi regime and rebuild Germany after the war. What they didn’t know is that at that meeting there was a spy. Someone who would betray them all. In Jonathan Freedland’s new book, The Traitors Circle, he tells this unknown story of those within the Nazi regime that chose to give up everything to defy and disrupt Hitler’s plans. Why? Well, it’s not as clear cut as you could imagine. In fact, most of these anti-Nazi’s could have stayed silent, looked the other way, and remained comfortable in their high society lives until the war was over. But they didn’t. In my conversation with Jonathan Freedland, we talked about what or who could convince a group of men and women who did not need to give their lives up to sacrifice for the ultimate good of not only Germany, but the world. I hope you enjoy.
