Padre's Hour - Episode 45 - Inn Churches
Father Sam Randall will be interviewing Julie Thompson, CEO of Inn Churches in Bradford. Inn Churches provides practical support to those who need it most across Bradford. They work with over 100 other community groups and organisations, and have more than 850 volunteers from 70 churches and the wider community in Bradford. Their work comprises of an original Winter Shelter and Welfare Support, and Food Hub and Cooking Hub. Julie and Fr. Sam discuss the history of Inn Churches. She shares the challenges of the “Mobile Home Shelter” that was the beginnings of Inn Churches. They both celebrate the ecumenical spirit that has helped Inn Churches to become such a success for supporting the homeless. Julie shares how the volunteers were also blessed by serving others, but by also learning about the other churches and making friends with people from all aspects of life.
