Elkhart County is a place where quality craftsmanship, innovation and collaboration result in a well crafted life. With an appreciation for all things handmade and homegrown, we leave our mark on everything we hold. Elkhart County is Well Crafted.
In this episode, we talk to Cami and Michelle with Visit Nappanee and they share all of the fun planned for Taste of Nappanee and Spring Artisan Market. This annual event, held outside on the beautiful grounds of The Barns at Nappanee, is a fantastic way to experience a number of the exciting restaurants and businesses that make Nappanee their home. Businesses set up booths and give guests a "taste" of what they have to offer. You can enjoy samples of food from many of Nappanee's eateries, bakeries, and more! In addition, over 60 local artisans will have booths set up to share and sell their handcrafted items. Live music by Big Daddy Dupree will fill the grounds of The Barns while you celebrate all things Nappanee!
Then we chat with Trevor Daugherty, a studio potter in Goshen and executive director and co-founder of the Northern Indiana Clay Alliance. Trevor shares about how the NICA's mission centers around providing opportunities for regional artists while preserving the 300-year history of clay in northern Indiana (because, guess what - there is a scientific reason northern Indiana has so many great potters!). You can also learn more about the featured pottery artists on the Northern Indiana Clay Alliance Facebook page.
