From addiction to expansion... Richard Atherton is an executive coach in the structure he founded FirstHuman. He also hosts "Being Human"—a podcast I admire with over 300 episodes 😮 But what struck me the most was not his brilliant and eclectic career (from management consultant to cabaret owner and system coder... you won't believe what Richard did in his life). It was what he shared in this episode. Without filters. Without hiding. Check a few golden nuggets: 🍷 Richard started drinking at 14. 🎓 He had a brilliant academic track. 👎 He got fired from his first job for being too shy. 🤩 He lived a full, rich life… while struggling with alcohol and other addictions For years, the hangover was the only thing that helped him slow down. His mind was too fast. Too busy. Alcohol numbed the noise. Later came more layers: ➡️ Alcoholics Anonymous ➡️ S#x and Love Addicts Anonymous ➡️ Co-Dependents Anonymous ➡️ Landmark Education ➡️ John Bradshaw’s book Homecoming ➡️ Deep childhood therapy ➡️ Primal scream work An SO. MUCH. MORE. Richard went deep. And through that depth, he came back. Clearer. Softer. Freer. He now helps leaders turn away from the illusion of “When I’ll finally get X, I’ll be happy.” Because joy and connection are not at the end of the path. They’re here. Available. When we stop running. It’s one of the most open conversations I’ve ever had on this podcast. Check the full episode HERE: https://lnkd.in/dYejCFSE ENJOY TO THE MAX 🤩🤩🤩!!!

Fellow podcasters are always awesome to host on the show. And when Dennis Wakabayashi, CX influencer of Expo 2020, founder of CX in the wild, podcaster, public speaker, CX strategist and consultant comes in town, that's even better. In short, Dennis is a big figure in CX. During our conversation, we talked about fascinating topics: 🇺🇸 Dennis had a modest upbringing in the US and went through stigma and racism 👨🏼‍🎨 He became a graffiti artist at the age of 16 and his parents learned it... waaay later ❌ He did not finish high school 🤩 For him, life is a suicide mission where no one made it alive, so... UNLEASH your potential 📏 Measuring CX is a disadvantage when it becomes a focus 🎯 Obstacles to team work are: absence of Unified, Clear and Simple goals 🎻 If businesses were an orchestra, the biggest mistake they do is to focus on the music instead of the space in between the notes AND MUUUUUUUCH MORE!!!! Dennis, it was a true joy welcoming you on the show. Thank you for passing by and let's do this again! ENJOY TO THE MAX 🤩🤩🤩!!!
