I'm your host, Dr. Elizabeth Kerner. I hope you'll think of me as your sister, the plastic surgeon, who will tell you like it really is. I have been in practice in Plano & Dallas, TX for over 30 years, and I am American Board of Plastic Surgery certified. During my career I have had the honor to serve over 13,000 patients. Each episode will focus on one area of plastic surgery in depth, discussing the anatomy, the operative technique, risks, potential complications, and most importantly, who would be a good candidate and who would not be a good candidate.

How Botox Works and What to Expect

How Botox Works and What to Expect

Thank you for joining me!  Today we're going to talk about Botox® Cosmetic.

In this episode I'll explain what Botox is, the differences between Botox and other wrinkle-minimizing injectables like Dysport and Jeuveau, how Botox works to minimize wrinkles, how long the effect lasts, and what to expect when you receive Botox.

We cover a lot of very interesting ground in this episode, and quickly answer many of the questions people have about Botox:

  • What are the risks and complications of Botox?
  • How long does Botox last, and how long after injection until you see results?
  • How much Botox should you receive? Can you receive too much or too little, and what happens if you do?
  • There are lots of Botox deals out there, so is it important to have your Botox injected by a cosmetic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and if so, why does it matter?
  • Is getting Botox painful or pain-free?

As a plastic surgeon with over 32 years of experience, I've addressed the questions and concerns of thousands of men and women, and I can tell you that everyone has questions when it comes to plastic surgery. That's why I made this episode about Botox!

If you have any questions at all, please call the office or look on our website, https://drkerner.com.
