I'm your host, Dr. Elizabeth Kerner. I hope you'll think of me as your sister, the plastic surgeon, who will tell you like it really is. I have been in practice in Plano & Dallas, TX for over 30 years, and I am American Board of Plastic Surgery certified. During my career I have had the honor to serve over 13,000 patients. Each episode will focus on one area of plastic surgery in depth, discussing the anatomy, the operative technique, risks, potential complications, and most importantly, who would be a good candidate and who would not be a good candidate.

What Is Liposuction and How Does It Work?

What Is Liposuction and How Does It Work?

Thank you for joining me!  Today we're going to talk about liposuction.  In this episode I'll explain what liposuction is and how it came to be, what techniques exist for liposuction and their pros and cons, and then I will explain how I perform liposuction and what one of my patients can expect when they come to me for liposuction.

We cover a lot of interesting ground in this episode, and answer many of the questions people have about liposuction:

What is liposuction?

What are the different types of liposuction?

What are the risks and complications associated with liposuction?

What is ultrasonic liposuction?

What is power-assisted liposuction?

What should a patient undergoing liposuction expect to experience during the procedure?

How soon can you exercise after liposuction?

Who is the best candidate for liposuction, and who is not a good candidate for liposuction?

What is post-surgical recovery like after liposuction?

As a plastic surgeon with over 32 years of experience, I've addressed the questions and concerns of thousands of men and women, and I can tell you that everyone has questions when it comes to plastic surgery, and liposuction is no exception. That's why I made this episode!

If you have any questions at all, please call the office or look on our website, https://drkerner.com. I hope you enjoy this episode!
