4 - Prepping Plastic | Managing inconsistent materials when creating art from waste

Making art from inherited waste.

Griffin Nordstrom & Domenica Queen talk strategies for working with and embracing the inconsistencies of waste plastic as an art medium. It's hard to know for sure what the supply of any given plastic will be and how it will act once it's in the studio. The bags most commonly used in their work come from a variety of manufacturers and though the plastic is the same, inks, dyes and construction differ, making improvisation a must.
