We know that there are 8 parts of speech in U.K based English grammar. They are noun, pronoun, adjective, verb, adverb, preposition, conjunction and interjection. A noun is a naming word. A noun is the name of a person, place, thing or an idea. There are 5 kinds of nouns. They are proper noun, common noun, collective noun, material noun and abstract noun.

A pronoun is a word that is used instead of a noun. We discussed about major types of pronouns. Some of them are personal pronoun, possessive pronoun, relative pronoun, demonstrative pronoun and interrogative pronoun.

An adjective is a word that qualifies a noun or pronoun. The major types of adjectives are proper adjective, possessive adjective, adjective of quality, adjective of quantity, numerical adjective, demonstrative adjective and distributive adjective.
