Before Wicked:For Good, there was The Wizard of Oz(1939)! We’re off to see Zach’s first watch!

Wicked and Wicked: For Good have taken the world by storm and are two of the most popular movies in the world right now, but Zach had never seen the movie that started it all. The Wizard of Oz(1939) is a cinematic classic. Zach watches completely for the first time. Based on the L. Frank Baum novel of the same name, 125 years old this year and still making people smile. Dorothy, Glinda, The Wicked Witch of the West or Elphaba before we knew her name. The Cowardly Lion, The Tinman, and The Scarecrow. Munchkin land, flying monkeys and of course The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. We talk about the history of the movie, the tumultuous making of the movie, and of course its connection to pop culture and the Wicked franchise. The color, the music, and the magic of one of the greatest movies ever made. It made Judy Garland a star, it won the Oscar for Somewhere Over the Rainbow, and it gave us lions and tigers and bears oh my!
