For 1,425 days, Nadja Telalagic and her family, friends, and neighbors were assaulted by artillery, tanks, and small arms during the siege of Sarajevo. Cut off from the rest of the world, they lived without water, electricity, and heat – and with hardly any food. Nadja says they were the worst days of their lives. And yet, in a strange way, they were the best days, too.
