Mitchell is a clinical psychologist, trained at public hospitals, private hospitals, and private practices in Sydney and currently works at Osana.

His focus is on anxiety, depression, addictions, body image concerns, trauma and relationship problems. Mitchell applies evidence-based psychological treatments Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.
