The Profiling Evil Podcast delves into unsolved criminal cases from around the world, peeling back the layers of human behavior to reveal what drives evil. We look into the mind of the predator—their motivations, their victim selection, and the patterns that expose them. Each episode goes beyond headlines, examining how investigators identify red flags, connect the dots, and capitalize on the very errors offenders believe will never be found.

Your host, Mike King, brings over four decades of experience in criminal justice and behavioral analysis. A retired law enforcement executive, Mike served as Chief of Staff to Utah Attorney General Jan Graham and Weber County Attorney Reed M. Richards. He began his career at the Ogden Police Department, where he worked patrol, motor enforcement, and SWAT before moving into investigations where he led task forces that hunted serial predators and violent offenders.

Mike’s expertise earned him national recognition. He served as co-chair of the FBI’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Program (ViCAP) National Advisory Board, directed UTAP, the Utah Criminal Tracking and Analysis Project, and supported intelligence operations during the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City.

After retiring from public service, Mike joined the Environmental Systems Research Institute (Esri), where he spent years consulting with police agencies around the globe on intelligence gathering, emergency communications, and major event management. In 2024, he retired again, this time to focus full-time on Profiling Evil and its growing community of true crime investigators, students, and enthusiasts.

Mike is an internationally recognized speaker, trainer, and adjunct professor, as well as a visiting scholar at multiple universities. He’s authored several acclaimed works on crime and human behavior, including:

·      Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing

·      Deceived: An Investigative Memoir of the Zion Society Cult

·      She Knew No Fear

·      Who Killed King Tut?

·      Predators: Who Are They and How Do We Stop Them?

·      Profilers

Mike’s investigative insight and behavioral expertise have been featured on Court TV, NewsNation, Law & Crime Network, Dr. Phil, History’s Greatest Mysteries, and 60 Minutes Australia, where his calm, analytical style helps audiences understand the why behind the world’s most chilling crimes.

At @ProfilingEvil, you’ll find deep dives into real investigations, expert analysis of offender behavior, and lessons in situational awareness and safety. It’s more than storytelling, it’s about learning how to recognize, understand, and ultimately disrupt evil.

Holidays Behind Bars. Ruby Franke, Kouri Richins & Lori Daybell | Profiling Evil
In most families, the holidays are driven by loving, caring mothers who can’t wait to get everybody under the same roof. But what happens when the “mom” at the center of the story is accused — or convicted — of destroying her own family? In this Profiling Evil episode, we look at how high-profile women like Ruby Franke, Jodi Hildebrandt, Kouri Richins, and Lori Vallow Daybell will likely spend their holidays behind bars. Richins’ charges are still allegations. What are the holidays actually like in prisons and jails. We’ll even chat about the difference from conditions in historic Utah jails from the 1800s and how they compared the modern world of inmate tablets, education programs, and even conjugal-visits. Is spending Christmas in prison the worst thing that can happen to you… or is it living with the knowledge that you murdered or brutalized your own children? #ProfilingEvil #MappingEvil #RubyFranke #JodiHildebrandt #KouriRichins #KoriRichins #EricRichins #LoriVallowDaybell #LoriDaybell #JJVallow #TyleeRyan #TammyDaybell #truecrime #prisonlife #holidayinprison #ChristmasInPrison #UtahJails #JuabCountyJail #StGeorgeJail #FillmoreJail #UtahTerritorialJail #womeninprison #childabuse #childmurder #influencercrime #doomsdaymom #corrections #incarceration #victims #criminalbehavior #riskreduction #LasVegasConference #Newspapers ======================================= Email your questions to: ProfilingEvil@gmail.com ======================================== 20% Discount off of Newspapers.com https://Newspapers.com/ProfilingEvil ======================================== LOOKING FOR WAYS TO SUPPORT PROFILING EVIL? 💳 DONATE: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=T54JX76RZ455S 💵 PayPal: https://paypal.me/profilingevil 🕵️BECOME A MEMBER: https://www.youtube.com/profilingevil/join 🛒SHOP MERCH: https://www.profilingevil.com/profilingevilshop 📖SHOP BOOKS: https://www.profilingevil.com/store See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
