Tweedy the Clown is one of the UK's most beloved performers. He's entertained millions around the world over decades, from village circus big tops to Madison Square Garden.
I was lucky enough to have a couple of hours with him, recording in what I later found out to be the late, great Nell Giffords' caravan - Nell co-founded Giffords Circus in 2000.
In this funny and surprisingly philosophical conversation, Tweedy takes us from being a tiny teenager who worried he might only be funny because of his size to perhaps the most famous working clown in the country.
We talk about the art of clowning, the day his hair caught fire on stage - and how that shaped his signature look, how the media made monsters of clowns, how chaos becomes craft, and why the best clowns are really just adults who refuse to let go of their childlike wonder.
