How Fertiliser Is REALLY Made, Inside The Worlds Fertiliser Capital

In this very special episode, we travel across the Atlantic to Trinidad, the heart of global fertiliser production, to see where the UAN (Urea Ammonium Nitrate) that powers modern agriculture is made.

We’re joined by Hannah and Brenton from Proman, one of the world’s leading producers of ammonia and UAN, as we go behind the scenes of their massive manufacturing plant, from the chemistry of ammonia and nitrate production, to the engineering scale that keeps fertiliser flowing to farms around the world.

We explore the science, logistics, and global economics behind fertiliser, from factory control rooms and storage tanks to onboard a cargo ship carrying 50,000 tonnes of product. Plus, we discuss the future of low-carbon shipping and methanol-fuelled vessels, and even squeeze in a quick stop at the beach (and one unfortunate lost phone in the sea…).

Comment below: Did you know Trinidad plays such a big role in global food production?
