In The Now - Episode 4: Festivities

Recorded 16 October 2025

We're right smack in between the Mid-Autumn Festival and Deepavali, so what better time than to talk about festivities? Join us, Anelka, Luca, Nico and Yakoob as we delve into these two festivities and learn more about the specific traditions across Singapore, Spain and Italy; from the Spanish 12 grapes New Year's tradition to tea and mooncakes for Mid-Autumn Festival. Also, our go-to meals for the occasions we celebrate.

During the break, enjoy a rendition of "Italiano Vero" from our very own Luca! :)

After, we follow up festivities to something in its vicinity: superstition. We've all heard plenty of them growing up. Don't trim nails at night or it's bad luck to see a black cat; we share our countless superstitions with each other and learn the origins of some -- some have interesting backstories. You wouldn't want to miss it!

Plus plenty of chitchat (that sometimes happens after the mics are turned off) in between. Stay tuned and happy listening!
