Ly is a local educator, working with foster youth with the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE). He also worked promoting anti-bullying with SCOE, and as a substitute teacher for one  year in the Elk Grove District. Ly previously ran unsuccessfully for the school board in 2002 and he applied for the Area 6 seat last spring after Trustee Pam Irey resigned due to health issues.  Rambo was appointed by the board at that time. Ly publicly criticized the Board of Trustees in a quote by the Elk Grove Citizen at his campaign kickoff event last week, apparently referring to the labor issues that have plagued the district recently. “You have the fighting that’s going on, and at the same time the ones who should be at the helm have forgotten that the bottom line here is we have to provide for our students,” he said. We'll talk to Candidate Ly, and ask him his views on where the district is now, and what he see's for the future. This is a live, interview/call-in format.
