No walking corpses, no mythological creatures nor mad scientist concoctions that make you crazy, but rather the story of a good and normal, docile man going insane from injustice, transforming into a monster that was there all along, his inner monster, upon the realization that life is inherently unfair and being polite and nice within a professional context is rarely rewarding to those with actual merit, but instead often rewards those willing to be the biggest buttheads. This fallen man transforms into the phantom, a living ghost that haunts the opera house, sabotaging anybody that gets in the way of a young actress that he has been secretly sponsoring for years, now doing what he can from the shadows to save her from suffering the same fate as himself, protecting her innocence as an artist and a person from being tainted by the cruelty of the dog eat dog nature of the entertainment business.
