Today’s episode features guest reader Alan Clark. He has chosen to read “ Pete the Cat:Snow Daze” by James Dean. It is his 6 year old son Kristopher’s favorite book. We are excited because Alan provides a male perspective of reading with young boys of color. He suggests starting with enhancing their self esteem, allowing them the chance to open up to receiving knowledge , and then, discarding some of the technology which has become main distractors. He says, children who are over stimulated find it difficult to sit quietly with a book.
